Assassin's Creed Introduces Surprising Attack on Titan Crossover for Thanksgiving

In a surprising crossover event that challenges usual expectations, Ubisoft has announced an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Mission Disclosed

According to the formal release, "A strange confrontation leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where hints of forbidden practices and monstrous transformations echo through the obscurity." The storyline features a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret group.

The adventure focuses on "bizarre experiments and a terrifying adversary" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Places and Changes

The trailer features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview concludes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the captive, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Items and Extra Content

Players who successfully complete the adventure will acquire an unique katana together with multiple objects concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

Latest Free Story Addition

This release also introduces the game's newest no-cost story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive techniques: Naoe reveals a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This marks scarcely the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with famous anime series. The series earlier included a 2020 collaborative story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
