Similar to the recent storm tore through the northern region the prior day, the home side swept the visitors aside at the Etihad Stadium. Looking at the calendar, it always appeared this was the period that would truly test this ability. Sadly for the opposition, they seemed weary throughout, the historic win against the French side clearly having left its mark.

Tactical Shifts

Skinner had attempted to freshen things up with a handful of adjustments. Ella Toone, Elisabeth Terland, Janssen and Leah Galton all added freshness, although the exclusion of the on-form Melvine Malard to the substitutes raised a few eyebrows.
